At the U.S. Department of Commerce Office of Inspector General, Roderick led a major organizational turnaround, transforming one of the federal government’s lowest-ranked subcomponents into a nationally recognized oversight organization. Under his leadership, the office rose from the bottom 1% to the top 20% of federal rankings — while significantly improving talent acquisition, retention, technical capability, execution speed, and operational effectiveness.Before Commerce OIG, Roderick rebuilt the business functions of two other federal organizations, including the U.S. Department of Interior Office of Inspector General.

Before entering senior government leadership, Roderick worked in railroad operations, manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, and international business environments across the United States, Canada, and Central America. That operational background shaped a practical approach to governance and oversight focused on enabling mission success while maintaining accountability.

• Built and scaled mission assurance and oversight functions supporting more than $100B in semiconductor, broadband, cybersecurity, and national infrastructure initiatives.
• Rebuilt cybersecurity oversight capabilities conducting system audits, red team operations, zero trust assessments, and incident response evaluations.
• Reduced organizational attrition from 27% to 7% while strengthening recruitment, technical capability, and operational execution.
• Oversaw 24 audit teams and an enterprise investigations function managing 150 active matters.
• Designed and led operational and supply chain initiatives across North America, Latin America, Asia, and Australia.
